Studies first, baseball second for San Francisco valedictorian
May 17, 2007
University of San Francisco shortstop Tavo Hall has always felt equally at home in the classroom and on the baseball field. Friday, he hopes he's just as comfortable at the speaker's lectern as he delivers the eight-minute valedictory address during commencement ceremonies for more than 500 classmates.
Hall, a three-year starter from Albuquerque, says he's not alone on his team in putting academics first.
