The Dante Benedetti Foundation
The Dante Benedetti Foundation is dedicated to continuing the spirit and legacy of Dante Benedetti. Simply put, helping kids through the game of baseball. From nearly 40 years Dante was San Francisco's own Mr. Baseball to thousands of boys and young men. His kindness, generosity and occasional firm hand guided many a young boy away from trouble and back onto the road to becoming responsible adults. His legacy is seen today throughout our community as "Dante's boys" have become policeman, doctors, coaches, teachers, and businessmen.
Our Partnership
Working in partnership with the University of San Francisco Baseball program, The Dante Benedetti Foundation is providing meaningful financial support to organizations that facilitate active participation in baseball for under served youth in the San Francisco community.
Field of Dreams Project
Benedetti Field has been used for over 75 years by the San Francisco Community. The Field is home to the USF Baseball program, a junior baseball program, is used by several local high school baseball programs, and is the site for numerous baseball camps and clinics held each year in the City.
As school funding and Park & Recreation budgets continue to be cut, Benedetti Field has become one of the few available locations to play baseball in San Francisco. With the addition of enclosed batting cages the Field of Dreams Project has completed the first phase of the Benedetti Field renovation. Future projects will provide additional facilities and greater access to kids playing baseball in the City through the installation of field turf.

The 2010 Dante Benedetti Baseball Classic
The 5th Annual Dante Benedetti Classic will be held at AT&T Park on April 16th, 2010 and will feature the USF Dons vs. rival St. Mary's. Game time is ~ 6:55PM following the Bruce-Mahoney game between SHC and SI which begins at 3:40PM.

The 2010 Dante Benedetti Golf Classic
The 4th Annual Dante Benedetti Golf Classic will be held at TPC San Francisco Bay at Stonebrae on September 13, 2010.
We're expecting a full field this year so mark your calendars and register today. Day of the event registration will not be accepted.
