JUNIOR: Followed in his father's (Chubby Cox, USF '77) footsteps and was named all-WCC, first father-son combo to achieve that...averaged 15.3 points and 3.6 rebounds... enters season #33 on USF career scoring list... improved his scoring to 18.9 ppg in league play, second best average in the WCC... scored a career best 30 points to lead USF to a 78-65 win over Santa Clara ...high scorer in 13 games, including nine straight when teammate Darrell Tucker was injured...scored 27 points in win over LMU... ranked third in the WCC in three-point percentage in league play hitting 32-67 (47.8%)...also fourth in 3pters made per game (2.29)...shot 50.3% from the floor in WCC contests...ranked 7th in the WCC in FG% during league and seventh in free-throw percentage (83.3).

SOPHOMORE: Third leading scorer on the Dons (14th in WCC) with 12.0 ppg...ranked tops on USF and third in the WCC in three-point percentage (42.7%, 44-103)...was the team's second leading rebounder (4.8 rpg) and was second in assists (2.5 apg)...WCC Player of the Week after scoring a career high 22 points vs. San Diego and adding 20 vs. Santa Clara...led the WCC in assist/turnover ratio (2.2) during WCC games and was 15th in scoring. Third in the WCC in 3pt% and fourth (45.5) during league play.

REDSHIRT: Sat out 2000-01 after surgery to remove bone spurs from his foot...played during summer tour of Canary Islands and Spain FRESHMAN: Appeared in all 28 games as a freshman starting twice (in wins vs. LMU and at Santa Clara)... averaged 4.9 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest... scored in double figures five times with a season best 15 vs. San Francisco State on December 23rd...shot a solid 75.7% from the free-throw stripe.

HIGH SCHOOL: Son of former USF star Chubby Cox and cousin of Los Angeles Lakers' star Kobe Bryant...as a senior he was named all-state first team...his career total of 1,798 points is the ninth highest total in Philadelphia history... as a senior he averaged 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists, shot 52% from the floor and 85% from the free-throw line...John was named Markwood Player of the Year and was a Scholastic Athlete.
