SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- USF fell behind by 21 points early in the second half as Santa Clara put the game away for good. Dior Lowhorn scored 22 points to lead San Francisco (5-15, 1-4). Broncos' John Bryant scored 22 points as Santa Clara posted a 66-48 victory over San Francisco Monday night at War Memorial Gym.

Santa Clara's Calvin Johnson scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half of the third victory in four games for the Broncos (11-9, 3-2). San Francisco struggled to defend the 6-foot-10 Bryant, who also had 12 rebounds, while Johnson and Brody Angley hurt the Dons from outside as Santa Clara took a 25-point lead.

The Broncos led 35-22 at the half thanks to hot shooting and stifling defense. They then thwarted any chance of a comeback, outscoring the Dons 31-26 in the second half to coast to the victory.

Hyman Taylor turned in the first double-double of his career, finishing with 11 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots in 35 minutes.

The win denied San Francisco head coach Eddie Sutton of his 800th career victory.

San Francisco takes to the road this weekend when it travels to Southern California for a pair of games, beginning Saturday, February 2 at Pepperdine. Game time against the Waves is set for 7:00 PM at Firestone Fieldhouse.
