Box Score

USF paced by 20 points by Tayo Akinsete and 17 by Shamell Stallworth opened the exhibition part of their basketball season by defeating the Olympic Club 81-68 Saturday night at Memorial Gymnasium.

The Dons led early by scores of 17-4 and 22-7 before foul trouble and an Olympic Club spurt allowed the guests to pull to within 43-37 at the half.

The Olympic Club was paced by 18 points by former Stanford guard Kris Weems and 12 by former N.Y. Knick Chris McNealy.

USF also got 12 points each by seniors Hondre Brewer and LyRyan Russell, and 10 by Darrell Tucker. Russell returning from an injury redshirt season, led USF with seven rebounds and five assists. His sister Toni made her USF debut earlier in the evening with the women's basketball team.

The Dons will face the London Leopards on November 11th before tipping off the regular season on November 16th when they host Seton Hall.
