Final Stats

(Fort Collins, CO) - USF forced overtime, but Colorado State opened up the second extra session on a 16-0 run and rolled to a 91-75 non-conference victory Sunday afternoon at Moby Arena. The Dons (2-4) drop their fourth straight, while the Rams (4-2) pick up their first win in the all-time series against San Francisco.

Senior forward Dior Lowhorn and sophomore guard Rashad Green scored 21 points to lead the way for USF offensively. Lowhorn was held to just four points in the first half, but came alive in the second and connected on all 10 of his attempts from the free throw line to go along with seven rebounds. It was a career-high for Green, who connected on 7-for-10 from the field with seven boards off the bench.

San Francisco simply could not keep Pierce Hornung - who only scored seven points but ripped down 17 rebounds, nine of them offensive - off the glass. Travis Franklin scored a game-high 24 points and simply took over late in the game for the Rams.

USF and the Rams were deadlocked at the half (25-25), end of regulation (59-59) and after the first overtime period (73-73). The Dons shot n.382 (21-58) from the field, .273 (6-22) from deep and converted on .750 (27-36). CSU countered with .400 (26-65) shooting, .304 (7-23) from 3-point range, but did major damage at the free throw line, connecting on .821 (32-39). The two teams were whistled for a whopping 56 personal fouls, 31 on USF.

San Francisco got off to a painfully slow offensive start. The Dons connected on just one of their first 10 field goal attempts and after a Bryant lay-up at the 19:12 mark, USF did not hit another until Green connected on a 3-pointer with 10:23 remaining in the first. The Dons hit on .500 (6-12) to end the half.

USF continues its Rocky Mountain road swing when it takes on Colorado Tuesday in Boulder. Tip-off time against the Buffs is set for 6:00 PM (PT) from the Coors Event Center in a game broadcast live on Green 960.

NOTES: A season-high four Dons fouled out - Perris Blackwell, Moustapha Diarra Lowhorn and Kwame Vaughn... USF leads the all-time series against the Rams 3-1... it was the 40th career 20-plus scoring night for Lowhorn.
