    (Los Angeles, CA)- Kenyon Jones and Darrell Tucker combined for 42 points to lead USF to a 86-76 victory over Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles. Kenyon Jones led all scorers with 23 points making five of seven shots while Tucker made 8 of 13 from the floor and totaled 19.

    USF (14-5, 2-4) was in control from the start taking several leads of twenty points in the contest. LMU (2-17, 0-6) was able to cut into the lead on several late three-pointers by Stanley Thorne, who led the Lions with 20 points.

    It was a game marred by fouls with a total of 72 free-throws shot in the contest and five players disqualified. The Dons made 30 of 41 free-throws while the Lions knocked down 18 of 31. USF shot 51% from the floor, but just made 2 of 10 three-pointers to 10-26 for LMU. Tucker and John Cox fouled out for USF.

    "We needed a win to get back on the winning track," said USF coach Phil Mathews. "Now we need to win the two home games against St. Mary's and San Diego and we can make a run. Kenyon, Darrell and Chris (Barideaux) played well and led the team."

    USF backup point guard Chris Barideaux scored a career high12 points, playing for LyRyan Russell who was ill and played just six minutes. Kenyon Jones pulled 11 rebounds giving him his fourth double-double in the last five games.

    USF came out of the gates strong taking a 12-2 lead from the start. The Dons then went from a 18-15 to 31-15 to take control. USF's frontline dominated in the first half with Darrell Tucker, Kenyon Jones and James Lee shooting combined 12-14 from the floor a totaling 32 points before intermission. USF shot 72.7% from the floor in the first half, nailing 16 of 22 field goal attempts.

    The Dons return home to host St. Mary's Friday night and San Diego on Saturday.
