Disappointment behind them, Dons look ahead
March 7, 2007
It took the entire season and USF still isn't quite there.
"We're continuing to evolve," coach Jessie Evans said of his Dons, who lost to San Diego 77-75 in the West Coast Conference tournament, finishing at 13-18.
Team chemistry was the elusive ingredient this season, which is understandable for a team that at times played with as many as four new starters, including four transfers (two of them in their first year) from other programs. The Dons routinely lost regulars to injury, suspension and, in the case of the starting point guard, a three-game academic sabbatical.
