2004 USF Men's Basketball Team Camp

Setup:

  • Elite High School Team Camp will have 48 Teams

  • Teams will be in Pool's of 6
    • Pool's will be by strength - strongest pool to least strongest pool
    • Each team will be able to choose which pool it wants to play in (subject to move pool)
    • You play 5 teams in your pool once

  • Teams will play a total of 5 games in your pool on Friday and Saturday
  • Regardless of Pool record, teams will then be seeded after Pool Play
  • Every team will be seeded in a playoff bracket of 8 (With seeds 1 - 8)
  • The seeding will be done with consideration of which teams you have already played in Pool Play
  • Then, the top 8 will play in one playoff single elimination bracket
  • The next 8 will play in another playoff single elimination bracket so on and so forth
  • Each playoff bracket will have it's own winner
  • Every team is guaranteed 5 pool play games and one playoff game which comes out to 6
  • Maximum number of games is 8, if you advance to the finals in your playoff bracket
  • Pool names will be: Green, Gold, Silver, Bronze etc...
  • Playoff Bracket names will be: Div I., Div. II., and Div. III., Div. IV etc...

    RULES

  • Two 20 minute running halves
  • 2 total timeouts per game (45 seconds long)

    1st Half Rules

  • 20 Minute Running Clock
  • Shooting Foul = automatic 2 points for a 2 and automatic 3 points for a 3
  • Made Shot and Fouled = If a player is fouled while taking a 2 and makes it, 3 points will be given and if a player is fouled while taking a 3 and makes it, 4 points will be given
  • Last two minutes of half, clock stops on all whistles
  • Team Fouls will be kept - On the 7th team foul a point will be given to the team and then receive the ball out of bounds

    2nd Half Rules

  • 20 Minute Running Clock
  • Shooting Foul = automatic 2 points for a 2 and automatic 3 points for a 3
  • Made Shot and Fouled = If a player is fouled while taking a 2 and makes it, 3 points will be given and if a player is fouled while taking a 3 and makes it, 4 points will be given
  • Last 2 minutes of game, clock stops on all whistles except if lead is 15 or more
  • Team Fouls will be kept - On the 7th team foul a one and one will be shot and on the 10th foul 2 shots will be taken
  • Last 2 minutes of game: ALL SHOOTING FOULS WILL BE SHOT IN THEIR ENTIRETY WHICH MEANS THAT A SHOOTING FOUL IS 2 FT'S OR 3 FT'S - NO AUTOMATIC POINTS IN LAST TWO MINUTES OF GAME

    Other

  • If you receive an unsportsmanlike technical foul, that person will be done for that game
  • If you receive a Technical for hanging on the rim, that person can still play
  • Technical Foul will result in 2 Free Throws and possession
  • Trapping defenses are allowed
  • No half court 2-3 zone at all, or standing 1-2-2 zone at all: (must be trapping)
  • Full court zone pressing is allowed

    OT Rules:

  • 3 Total Minutes: First 2 minutes are running clock
  • Last 1 Minute: Stop clock on all whistles under 1 minute
  • 1 timeout per OT (no carry over timeouts)
  • Team Fouls Start at 0 and 1 and 1 FT's on the 2nd team foul will be shot
  • Shooting fouls: All Ft's will be shot in their entirety

    2 OT Rules:

  • Sudden Death: All FT's will be shot in their entirety
  • Team must win by 2 points
  • 1 and 1 after each foul
  • 0 Timeouts (no carry over timeouts)
  • Any technical foul will be carried out and shot in it's entirety even if a team has scored 2 points, thus the game is not technically over until those technical FT's are shot
