Former USF men's basketball star Damian Cantrell, who helped lead the Dons to the WCC Championship and NCAA tournament in 1998, will play for the New York Knicks in the Reebok Summer League teams in Boston and Salt Lake City.

Cantrell, who was named first team all-Continental Basketball Association this past season with the Yakima Sun Kings, is on the roster for the Reebok Pro Summer League (July 14-20 at the University of Massachusetts-Boston) and the Reebok Rocky Mountain Revue (July 21-26) at Salt Lake Community College).

Cantrell has an impressive CBA season last year, being named CBA Newcomer of the Year and finishing second in Most Valuable Player Balloting. He led the CBA in double-doubles (27) and ranked statistically in three-point percentage and rebounding as well in leading the Sun Kings to the CBA title.

NBA TV will televise these New York Knicks Summer League games from Boston: July 17 New York-Boston (5 PM), July 18 New York-New Jersey (1 PM).
