(San Francisco) - USF will open the 2007-08 regular season Thursday, November 8 against Oklahoma in the Norman Regional Round of the 2007 2K Sports College Hoops Classic, Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer as announced today. The Dons take on the host Sooners in opening round action at the Lloyd Noble Center, set for a 5:00 PM (PT) tip-off. Denver and East Central Oklahoma meet in the other game with the consolation/championship contests set for Saturday, November 9. Connecticut, Kentucky, Memphis, and Oklahoma will serve as the four regional hosts for the, the nation's premier season-opening college basketball tournament. Regional action for the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic takes place November 5-9, with the winner of each Regional Round advancing to the Championship Rounds, Nov. 15-16, at Madison Square Garden in New York City. "We are looking forward to playing in the 2K College Hoops Classic," USF head coach Jessie Evans said. "The competition will be extremely difficult as usual. As an NABC member this is a great way for basketball coaches to contribute to an outstanding cause. I'm excited to have my team involved in such a worthy effort." A total of 10 games will be nationally televised on the ESPN family of networks. ESPN2 will televise both Championship Round doubleheaders at Madison Square Garden on November 15th and 16th. ESPNU will televise two Memphis Regional games, two Lexington Regional games, and two games of the Storrs Regional. Outlined below are the dates, locations and match-ups for the tournament. No games in the Norman Regional are currently scheduled to be televised.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Coaches vs. Cancer provides critical mission outreach, while raising funds in support of the Society's lifesaving cancer research, education, advocacy, and community service.
