USF Basketball Head Coach Rex Walters Rescheduled for Friday on

UPDATE - PLEASE NOTE: Coach Walters was originally scheduled to appear on Chronicle Live on Wednesday, but due to Michael Crabtree finally signing with the San Francisco 49ers, the interview has been rescheduled for Friday. (San Francisco) - USF head men's basketball coach Rex Walters will appear on Chronicle Live Friday, October 9 at 5:00 PM on Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area. The second year coach of the Dons will discuss the strides made by the Green and Gold in preparation for what promises to be an exciting 2009-10 campaign. In addition to previewing the upcoming basketball season, Walters will talk about the successful coaching clinic recently hosted by the USF men's basketball program. The keynote speaker at the event was Naismith Hall of Fame coach Roy Williams of North Carolina, who coached Walters as a player at Kansas and is one of four Hall of Fame coaches Walters played for - Larry Brown, the late Chuck Daly and Pat Riley are the others. USF hosts the 25th annual George O'Brien "Green & Gold" Scrimmage games, Saturday, October 24 at War Memorial Gym. This popular event will showcase the extensive renovations to War Memorial Gym and will give fans and alumni a first glimpse of what should be exciting men's and women's basketball seasons on the Hilltop.
