San Francisco Finishes Seventh at 2012 NCAA West Golf Regional
San Francisco men's golf put itself in position to advance to the program’s first-ever NCAA Nationals appearance, but could not muster a strong finish and shared seventh place Saturday in the final round of the NCAA West Regionals at the Stanford Golf Course. The Dons shot five-over 285 and finished the event tied for seventh with No. 50 Oregon State at one-under 839 (273, 281, 285) on the par-70 course playing at 6,727 yards.

San Francisco In The Hunt at 2012 NCAA West Golf Regional
San Francisco men's golf turned in a solid second round Friday afternoon at the Stanford Golf Course and sit in sixth place at six-under 554 (273, 281) with 18 holes to play. The top five teams in the tournament field advance to NCAA Nationals, a place the Dons look to go for the first time in program history.

San Francisco Men’s Golf Selected for 2012 NCAA West Regional
USF men’s golf made more history Monday when it was selected for the 2012 NCAA West Regional Field starting Thursday May 17 at the Stanford Golf Course. It marks the first time in program history the Dons have captured NCAA postseason berths in consecutive seasons and is just the team’s fourth overall appearance.

USF Men’s Golf Place Four on All-West Coast Conference Team
After posting a runner-up showing in the 2012 West Coast Conference Championships, San Francisco had four selected for All-WCC honors as announced today by the league office. Five-time medalist senior Ji Hwan Park and 2011 WCC Championship medalist Taylor Travis captured first team honors for the Dons, while sophomore James Back and freshman Jobim Carlos were honorable mention picks.

San Francisco Men’s Golf Posts Runner-Up Showing in 2012 WCC Championships
San Francisco men’s golf surged once again, but could not catch Saint Mary’s and posted a runner-up showing at the 2012 West Coast Conference Golf Championships on Wednesday at the San Juan Oaks Golf Club. The Dons shot two-under 286 as a team, and at one point closed the gap to three shots, but the Gaels posted a five-under 283 en route to their first-ever WCC title.

San Francisco men’s golf made a furious charge during the second round of the 2012 West Coast Conference Golf Championships and fired a 10-under 278 on Tuesday at the San Juan Oaks Golf Club. The defending WCC Champions jumped into second place and trail Saint Mary’s by six shots going into the final round on the par-72 course playing at 6,172 yards.

San Francisco senior Ji Hwan Park captured medalist honors for the second time in less than a month and helped the Dons post a third-place finish at the Braveheart Classic Tuesday at the Oak Valley Golf Club. Park finished at six-under 210 (71, 67, 72), good for a one shot victory – his fifth competing for the Green and Gold.

USF returning junior Taylor Travis continued his strong season on the links with a runner-up showing in the 2011 Pacific Coast Amateur last Friday at Martis Camp near Lake Tahoe. Travis nearly led wire-to-wire of the prestigious event, carding a nine-under 279 (69, 70, 69, 71) on the par-72 course playing at 7,766 yards.

James Back a returning sophomore of the USF men’s golf team capped a strong first collegiate season in impressive fashion by qualifying for the 2011 US Amateur August 22-28 at the Erin Hills Golf Course. Back, the 2011 West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year, captured medalist honors shooting a two-under 142 (67, 75) last Thursday at the Western Hills Golf & Country Club in Chino Hills, CA.
