AT USF (2008-09): Competed in seven events for San Francisco as a junior... posted a pair of top-20 showings for the Dons... shared fourth place at the Bay Area Intercollegiate... posted three rounds at par or better, including a season-low 3-under 69 in the first round of the 2008 Giustina Memorial Classic... carded 45 birdies in 20 rounds. AT USF (2007-08): Competed in one event as a sophomore for the Dons... carded four birdies at the 2007 Saint Mary's Invitational. AT USF (2006-07): Played in four tournaments in first season in the Green and Gold... shot a season-low 71 in round two of the 2006 Alister MacKenzie and in the final round of the 2007 Cuesta Title/Cal Poly Intercollegiate. Prep/Amateur Career: Helped lead his high school, the Notre Dame Preparatory Saints, to the Arizona State Championship title his junior season... Personal: Thomas Buran...left handed player...chose USF because of the great courses that the golfers get to play on...coming into USF was ranked in the top 50 high school players in the country according to golfweek...during the summer prior to USF did not finish outside of the top 15 in any tournament he played in...has two older brothers...from Scottsdale, AZ. |
