(Waikoloa, HI) - USF concluded its first event of the 2010 Spring Season with a 13th place showing in the 2010 Mauna Lani Invitational. The Dons shot 290 in the final round on Friday in one of college golf's elite events on the par-72 course playing at 6,913 yards.

Senior Domingo Jojola bounced back from a tough opening round to post a 21st place finish at 4-over 220 (78, 71, 71). Senior Chris Cunningham (77, 74, 72) and freshman Ji Hwan Park (77, 73, 73) finished tied for 44th place at 223. Jojola led the team with 10 birdies in the event, while Cunningham carded nine and Park added seven.

No. 2 Stanford won the talent laden event by three strokes with a 2-over 866 (297, 283, 286), while No. 29 Oregon (291, 290, 288) and No. 12 Washington (291, 287, 291) shared runner-up honors at 869. No. 8 Texas was fourth at 870 (297, 292, 281), one stroke in front of fifth place No. 1 Oklahoma State at 871 (299, 285, 287). The 22-team tournament field featured no fewer than 12 top-25 teams and six rated in the top-10 according to Golfstat.com.

San Francisco dug itself a deep hole with an opening round 312, but bounced back for a 294 on Thursday. The Dons carded their lowest round of the event on the final 18 at 290 for a 54-hole tally of 896. USF posted a quality win against No. 7 TCU. The Bullfrogs finished four shots behind the Dons at 900.

USF returns to action when it competes in the Battle of the Beach, hosted by Long Beach State and UCLA. Tournament action begins Sunday, February 14 at the Pelican Hill Golf Club in Newport Coast, CA.
