USF Men's Golf 13th After Opening Round of Battle at the Beach

(Newport Coast, CA) – USF men’s golf fired an opening round of 374 and sits in 13th place after round one of the inaugural Battle at the Beach Sunday at the Pelican Hill Golf Course. Seniors Chris Cunningham and Domingo Jojola posted even-par to lead the Dons on the par-71 course playing at 6,945 yards in an event hosted by Long Beach State and UCLA.
No. 24 Oregon State leads the event with 18 holes in the books at 7-under 348, one shot in front of Arkansas at 6-under 349. With a 3-under 352, San Diego State has a one shot lead against No. 6 Washington in fourth at 2-under 353. No. 14 UCLA rounds out the top-five teams at 1-under 352.
Cunningham led the way for USF with four birdies in the opening round.
San Francisco looks to make a move in Monday’s second round action. The Dons tee off No. 1 tee, beginning at 7:10 AM.
