Dons Place Twelfth in Inaugural USF Triumph at Pauma Valley

The University of San Francisco finished twelfth in the first annual USF Triumph at Pauma Valley that concluded Tuesday in Southern California.

The Dons shot a 903, paced by Jesse Galvon who shot a five under 218. He finished the event with a 74 on Tuesday. Chris Cunningham shot a 229, Kenny Adams a 231, Domingo Jojola a 236 and Kurt Nino a 238.

The USF "Gold" team shot a 916 total, with Taylor Hobin tallying a 220.

Saint Mary's won the event with a one over 853, paced by medalist Mike McRae. McRae shot a four under 209, helping to lead the Gaels to a 10 stroke win over Notre Dame. He made an eagle on 17 and a birdie on 18 to seal the deal.

"It was a great honor hosting this tournament at a great place such as the Pauma Valley Country Club," said Dons' head coach Dr. Gary Nelson. "Everyone at the club was so helpful in making this a truly special event at a very special golf course.

"We would also like to thank the teams for coming. The competition level was very high," he concluded.
