USF Men's Golf Leads After 36-Holes at the 2010 Triumph at Pauma Valley

(Pauma Valley, CA) - USF men's golf enjoyed a strong day to open the 2010 Triumph at Pauma Valley and enter Tuesday's final round with a seven stroke lead against Central Arkansas. The Dons shot a tournament-low 287 in the second round to vault to the top of the leader board on the par-71 Pauma Valley Country Club course playing at 7,077 yards.
Seniors Chris Cunningham (73, 72) and Domingo Jojola (75, 70) led no fewer than six Dons to top-10 showings in the opening two rounds at 3-over 145, good for a share of third place. Sophomore Ji Hwan Park (75, 73) is tied for eighth at 148, while senior Connor McElyea (77, 72) is in a logjam for 10th place at 149.
Jojola paced the Dons and ranked third in the field in birdies with nine on day one, while Park added six. Freshman Dash Lindsell ranked second in par holes with 27, while Cunningham was third with 25.
Sophomore Mat Miller (73, 73) sits in fifth place at 146 and sophomore Joey Toulon (74, 75) share 10th place while competing as individuals for San Francisco.
San Francisco enters the final round at 586 (299, 287), seven shots in front of Central Arkansas (296, 297) at 593. Long Beach State is third at 598 (299, 299), two shots in front of Portland at 600 (307, 293). Air Force rounds out the top-five teams at 613 (307, 306).
Steve Lecuyer (71, 72) of Central Arkansas and Chris Whitney of Air Force (73, 70) share the individual tournament lead.
Final round action of the 2010 Triumph at Pauma Valley kicks off Tuesday at 7:40 AM off No. 1 and No. 10 tees. The Dons go off No. 1 starting at 8:50 AM.
