Dons Finish 11th At St. Mary's Invite

Led by senior Ryan Gonzalez who shot a final round 73 in the rain, the USF men's golf team finished 11th with a 54-hole total 925 at the St. Mary's/Merrill Lynch Invitational that concluded Tuesday in Pebble Beach.

It was the final tuneup for the Dons before they begin play Monday in the WCC Championships at Saddle Creek in Copperopolis, Calif.

Lamar University won the title with a total of 891, topping Xavier by one stroke. Lamar's Oliver Bekker and Fresno State's Jason Anthony tied for medalist witha 54-hole total of 218.

Gonzalez, a senior from Burlingame, led USF with a 229, followed by Domingo Jojola (229), Taylor Hobin (233), Jesse Galvon (234) and Kurt Nino (237).
