Dons Seventh After 36 Holes Of Purple And Red Invitational

The USF men's golf team is in seventh place with a 36-hole total of 590 after two rounds of play of the Purple and Red Invitational being played at the Valley View Golf Course in Layton, Utah.

Freshman Jesse Galvon is pacing USF with a four under 140, tied for fourth place among individuals. On the day, the freshman from Canada recorded 10 birdies and an eagle.

Junior Moses Kahalekulu is second for USF with a 147 (+3) good for a tie for 24th place.

Freshman Tony Toulon, playing in his first collegiate tournament shot a 74 in the second round, registering his first score for USF. He made par on the last six holes to record the 2-over score.

Kurt Nino was having a good day for USF until the final hole when he recorded a triple-bogey, dropping him to six over.

The Dons shot a 299 in the first round and a 291 in the second round.

Host Weber State leads the tournament with a 565, leading second place Santa Clara by five strokes.

The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Tuesday.
