FAIRFAX, CALIF. - The San Francisco men's golf team struggled through the third and final round of the MacKenzie Invitational Tuesday at the Meadow Club. The Dons shot a 292 to cap off a 13th-place team finish.

The best USF performer Tuesday was senior Kenny Adams. Adams collected his best score of the tournament with a score one under 70. For his efforts, Adams climbed from a 61st-place tie at tee time to a 45th-place knot with Chadd Cocco and Daniel Cone of Saint Mary's and Jonathan Keane of Santa Clara.

Freshman EJ Kahn was the top Dons' individual overall despite registering a one over 72 for the day. Kahn wrapped up his time on the Meadow Club course tied for 28th (70 - 69- 72). Junior Kurt Nino (+4), sophomore Connor McElyea (+4) and sophomore Chris Cunningham (+5) all found Tuesday very forgettable. Nino and McElyea tied for 58th individually, while Cunningham found his name posted at 76th.

Following a final round team score of 276, eight under par, San Diego State took the team title away from Washington. The Huskies entered the day with the lowest total score but a round seven over par collapsed their hopes of first place honors. UC- Irvine (833; 276 - 277 -280), Oregon (836; 282 - 277 - 277) and Fresno State (836; 271 - 280 - 285) all also finished in the top five.

The individual leader after Monday, Louisville's Daryl Fathauer, held off a surging Todd Angel of Fresno State and Aaron Goldberg of San Diego State to top the competition. Fathauer collected a score of 200 (61 - 67 - 72) overall. Following Angel (202; 63-70 - 69) and Goldberg (204; 70 - 66 - 68), was Johan Carlsson of San Diego State (205; 70 - 66 - 69) and Mike McRae of Saint Mary's (205; 65 - 71 - 69).

USF's men next compete on October 24 and 25 at the Del Walker Invitational in Long Beach, Calif.
