Dons Finish 13th in Alister MacKenzie Invitational

The USF men's golf team shot a final round 295 to finish tied for 13th in the prestigious Alister MacKenzie Invitational that concluded Tuesday at the Meadow Club in Fairfax.
USF finished with a 36 hole total of 868 after carding its third straight sub 300 round.
Taylor Hobin paced USF with a 2 under 211 after shooting a 69 Tuesday, which tied him for tenth place. Kurt Nino finished with a four over 217, the Dons second best score.
"This was a great experience for our young group," said Dons first year coach Dr. Gary Nelson. "We played well in a tournament competing with some of the best teams in the nation. Congratulations to Taylor (Hobin) for three great rounds."
UC Berkeley finished with a three-round score of 844 (276, 281, 287) to win the event, ahead of Fresno State's 847 (280, 283, 284) and Purdue's 848 (277, 277, 294).
