USF Men's Golf Finishes 10th at Xavier Invitational

(Loveland, OH) - USF men's golf shot a 295 in the final round of the 2008 Xavier Invitational, securing 10th place in the 20-team field Tuesday at the Oasis Country Club. Senior Kyle Prolo was the top finisher for the Dons at 10th place with a five-under 211 (68, 68, 75).

Eastern Kentucky took home the hardware at 846 (282, 278, 286), five shots in front of runner-up Marquette at 851. Campbell shot 857, one stroke in front of Austin Peay at 858, while Winthrop rounded out the top-five teams at 865.

Junior Domingo Jojola finished tied for 24th at even par 216 (70, 74, 72). Junior Jesse Galvon shot a one-over 73 in the final round for the Dons. Prolo and junior Chris Cunningham tied for the tournament lead in eagles with two apiece, while Jojola led the field in par-3 scoring at two-under. Prolo paced the tournament in par-5 scoring at 11-under. USF carded five eagles in the tournament.

Marquette's Mike Van Sickle won the event with a remarkable 199 (64, 68, 67), finishing a whopping 17 shots under par.

San Francisco returns to action when it competes in the 2008 Hawaii Kauai Classic. First round action begins in paradise November 3.
