Dons Finish Turtle Bay In 19th

TURTLE BAY, HAWAII - The USF men's golf team closed out the fall season with a 19th-place finish at the Turtle Bay Invitational which concluded Wednesday evening. San Francisco had its best round of golf in the final day shooting a combined 283 as a team.

The team's total score was 869 (288 - 298 - 283). Tennessee secured the team title, finishing with a score of 800 (264 - 275 - 261), 64 under par.

Sophomore Chris Cunningham led the Dons in their improved run through with third round of 68. Overall, Cunningham ended his time in Hawaii tied for 32nd with a score of 209 (69 - 72 - 68). Tony Toulon also performed reasonably well on the day with a score of 71. Toulon will go home tied for 85th with a score of 220 (75 -74 -71).

Charles Ford of Tennessee and Sean Shahi of UC-Irvine tied for the individual title with 200 strokes.

USF will be out of action until February 25 when the team competes in the Anteater Invitational in Newport Beach, Calif.
