USF Competes In The Lonnie D. Small Spring Classic

The San Francisco men's golf team will compete in two rounds of the 23rd Annual Lonnie D. Small Spring Classic Monday and Tuesday in Buies Creek, N.C. Tee time for Monday is set for 10 a.m. ET while Tuesday's round starts at 9 a.m. ET. Campbell University will host the two-day event at Keith Hill Country Club, an 18-hole par-72 course. Along with Campbell and San Francisco, Davidson, Duke, Elon, Florida Gulf Coast, Gardner-Webb, James Madison, Longwood, Radford, Seton Hall, USC Upstate, Stetson and Towson are planning on attending. USF last competed in the Spring Classic in 2006 taking 5th out of 15 teams with a three round score of 918 (306-292-320). The Dons' Domingo Jojola won the Classic individual title breaking even with a three-round total of 216 (72-70-74). Campbell has won the team title in three straight go arounds. Last year, the Camels topped the board with 585 points (293-292). Josh Meador of Radford stroked a 140 (72-68) to take home individual honors. LAST TIME OUT: San Francisco men's golf finished the 2008 Anteater Invitational in 8th place at Santa Ana Country Club. USF shot a three-round total of 907 (302, 294, 311). Tied for 24th, sophomore Chris Cunningham was the Dons top finisher. Cunningham shot a 74 in the first round, Par (72) in the second round, and a 79 in the third.
