USF Men's Golf Set to Host 2010 Triumph at Pauma Valley

(San Francisco) - The University of San Francisco men's golf program and the Pauma Valley Country Club are proud to host the 2010 Triumph at Pauma Valley beginning Monday, March 15, 2010. A quality 12-team field will compete on the par-71 course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., playing at 7,077 yards.
Play will begin with 36 holes on Monday, followed by final round action on Tuesday. Live scoring for the tournament will be available on USFDons.com, through GolfStat.com and scores will be updated twice during each round.
Two West Coast Conference schools have won the event. Saint Mary's captured the first team title in 2007 at 1-over 853, while Loyola Marymount took the hardware in 2009 at 4-over 856 and return to the field in 2010. USF placed 11th in the inaugural event and both its `A' and `B' team posted top five finishes last season.
Dons Provide Sunday Golf Lessons: Before Sunday's practice round at Pauma Valley, USF men's golf team will provide golf lessons for out-patient children battling cancer from San Diego's Rady Children's Hospital. After the lessons, the children will join the team for lunch and will watch the practice round. Two youth cancer survivors - Christopher Laub and Kyle Lograsso - will play in the pro-am/practice round with members of the tournament field.

Tournament Format: 54 Hole Tournament with 36 holes on Monday, Mach 15 (from the first and the 10th tees) followed by the final round on Tuesday (shotgun start).
