PEBBLE BEACH, CALIF.- Sophomore Chris Cunningham of the San Francisco men's golf team, who sits tied for 47th, was the top Dons' finisher through the first day of competition at the Saint Mary's Invitational. Cunningham shot 75 and 76 in two rounds at Poppy Hill Golf Course.

Sophomore Conor McElyea (78-78 = 156; T73), senior Kenny Adams (82-74 = 156; T73), junior Tony Toulon (80-76 = 156; T73) and sophomore Thomas Buran (81-76 = 157; T78) were the other scorers for USF. As a team, the Dons concluded Monday in 18th place with a combined score of 616.

Baylor leads the team standings with a stroke total of 581. One of the reasons for the Bears first place stations was Wesley Williams who topped individuals with a score of 141 (71 -70).

San Francisco and 18 other schools continue the battle on the green Tuesday at 8 a.m.
