USF Men's Golf Competes in The Kaua'i Collegiate Invitational

(Lihue, Kaua'i) - USF men's golf is set to compete in its fourth event of the Fall season when it takes on a 10-team field in the 2009 Kaua'i Collegiate Invitational beginning Monday, October 26 at the Puakea Golf Course. The Dons will play 18 holes per day in the 54-hole event in its second year on a par-72 course playing at 6,954 yards.
It is the first of two events San Francisco will play in the islands. The Dons open the Spring season in the Hawaii-Hilo Invitational in mid-February. USF will compete against three West Coast Conference opponents in Gonzaga, Loyola Marymount and San Diego.
TOURNAMENT FIELD: Gonzaga, Hawaii, James Madison, Loyola Marymount, Sacramento State, San Diego (defending champion), San Francisco, Seattle, Utah, Weber State
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Monday: 18 holes (8:00 AM HT); Tuesday: 18 holes (9:00 AM HT); Wednesday: 18 holes (8:00 AM HT) - Par-72, 6,954 yards.

2008 CHAMPIONS: San Diego is the defending champion, winning last year's tournament team title with a three-round score of 39-under, 825 (286-267-272).
