DONS SOCCER WELCOMES DUTCH U16 NATIONAL TEAM COACH: USF men's soccer will host a special three-day coaching clinic featuring Ruud Dokter, the head coach of the Dutch U16 National Team. The clinic begins Friday, July 1 at Negoesco Stadium. Space is limited for this event, so sign up today. USF SOCCER REMEMBERS HOPE BRAGHETTA: USF men's soccer would like to take this opportunity to extend its condolences to former Dons standout player and head coach Bob Braghetta on the passing of his wife, Hope May 11. After a standout playing career in both soccer and baseball, Braghetta bridged the gap between two NSCAA Hall of Fame Coaches, succeeding the legendary Gus Donghue as head coach for the 1961 season before Steve Negoesco began his remarkable run in 1962. SAN FRANCISCO'S 2011 SCHEDULE POSTED: USF's 2011 men's soccer schedule has been posted online. The Dons open the 2011 campaign Friday, August 26 against ancient Bay Area rival Cal when the Golden Bears visit Negoesco Stadium for a 7:00 PM match. A formal schedule release will follow. LET THE DEBATE BEGIN: Last weekend former Dons standout Brandon Macdonald was credited with a goal in the San Jose Earthquakes 3-0 sheeting of visiting Colorado. Not much for style points, but B-Mac collects his fourth career scoring strike.

NEW COACHING STAFF ADDITIONS: Two new faces have joined the USF coaching staff for the 2011 spring season. Mike Carbone will serve as a volunteer assistant coach, while Randy Rigale will act as the teams graduate administrative assistant for the Dons. Travis Gottschalk is departing the Dons staff after six seasons on the Hilltop.
