USF Men's Soccer Hosts Annual Negoesco Scrimmage Saturday, August 23

(San Francisco) - USF men's soccer hosts its annual Negoesco Scrimmage Saturday, August 23 beginning at 1:00 PM at Negoesco Stadium. Fans and alumni will have the opportunity to meet the entire team and talk with the coaching staff as they preview what promises to be another exciting season. USF fans will get their first glimpse at another exciting recruiting class with the kickoff of the scrimmage set for a 1:00 PM start. Following the match, join the Dons for a special post-game barbecue, sponsored by the Green and Gold Club. Head coach Erik Visser, who begins his 31st season representing USF soccer will introduce his team and give a special preview of the upcoming season and what figures to be another exciting West Coast Conference race. Former Head Coach and USF Soccer Legend Steve Negoesco also will be on hand for the festivities. San Francisco opens the 2008 regular season on the road where it will compete in the Northwestern Invitational, beginning Friday, August 29 against the host Wildcats. USF then wraps up tournament play against Northern Illinois Sunday. After taking on Bay Area rivals San Jose State Wednesday, September 10 in the South Bay, the Dons host Pac-10 foe Stanford Sunday, September 14 at 7:00 PM at Negoesco Stadium.
