Dons Drop 5-2 Decision To Fresno State
(San Francisco) - San Francisco men's tennis dropped a 5-2 decision to visiting Fresno State Monday at the California Tennis Club in San Francisco. The Dons earned their two points, thanks to victories in singles play.
Fresno State took an early lead in doubles action, sweeping all three positions.
In singles action, San Francisco earned victories late to avoid the sweep. After dropping decisions at positions No. 1, 2, 3, and 5, the Dons rallied at Nos. 6 and 4. Playing in the fourth spot, Richard Bucalem downed the Bulldogs' Leslie in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6. The Dons' then earned a point at No. 6, as Jacob Hartwig posted a 7-5, 3-6 (12-10) win over deLaubenfels.
The Dons will return to action Wednesday when they face No. 65 Saint Mary's in Moraga.
