USF Men's Tennis Falls To Gauchos 6-1

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - USF men's tennis dropped a non-conference men's tennis match at UC Santa Barbara 6-1 win Saturday at the UCSB Courts. USF captured the doubles point, but were swept in singles competition. No. 55 ranked Carlos Palencia won his match at No. 1 singles, defeating USF's Joachim Lien 7-6, 6-3. No. 121 ranked Mirco Schwindt had little trouble with Pablo Pires DeAlmeida at No. 2 singles, winning 6-1, 6-2. Palencia and Schwindt paired at No. 1 doubles but were swept 8-0 by Lien and Mason Fuller. UCSB's No. 2 doubles team of Alex Anselme and Mike Placek won 8-2 for the Gauchos' only doubles win. USF continues their road trip at Cal Poly Sunday. UCSB 6, USF 1
