USF Swept By Wildcats
Feb. 1, 2008
TUCSON, Ariz. - Friday afternoon, in their first competition since November, the San Francisco men's tennis team was overpowered by Arizona, 7-0. Despite early leads in the first doubles' and singles' matchup, USF buckled under the Wildcat rackets. Asaf Cohen and Falko Huettenberger led Arizona's Claudio Christen and Jay Goldman 3-2 to open the dual. Christen and Goldman would come back, however, and win, 8-4. Arizona jumped to a 1-0 lead with a 3-0 showing in doubles. Thong Tu attempted to cut the oppositions momentum by topping Christen 6-2 in set one of singles' action. But Tu lost the dual in three sets as Christen won the next two frames 6-2, 6-3. San Francisco looks to rebound versus Northern Arizona Saturday. The dual is set to start at 9 a.m. PT.
