USF Men's Tennis Powers Past Hawaii 5-2

(San Francisco) - USF won the doubles point and cruised to a 5-2 victory against Hawaii in non-conference men's tennis action Friday at the Olympic Club. With the win, the Dons (5-3) beat the Rainbow Warriors (1-4) for the first time in 15 years. USF's top three singles players earned straight set victories, with Joachim Lien defeating Malino Oda 6-3, 6-2 at number one. Jorgen Arnesen dispatched Justin Menolascino 6-4, 6-2 at number two and Pablo Pires De Almeida downed Francisco Brignole 6-1, 6-4 at number three for San Francisco. Axel Elvik won at number six 6-1, 6-3 over Jarrod Diepraam. USF returns to the court when they take on the Bulldogs of Fresno State Sunday. Match time is scheduled for 2:00 PM in Fresno.
