USF Men's Tennis Falls 4-2 at Santa Clara
Feb. 18, 2005
(Santa Clara) - USF battled Bay Area rival Santa Clara in a weather-delayed West Coast Conference match taken 4-2 by the host Broncos Friday afternoon at the Degheri Tennis Center. The match began Thursday afternoon and was postponed due to inclement weather. San Francisco (2-7, 0-2 WCC) played with their full team for the first time this season, but Santa Clara (3-3, 1-1 WCC) held on for the win.
USF posted wins at number four and six singles. Phil Riis Hansen captured a 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-1 win against Eric Kochanski and No. 4, while Rafael Corraza had little trouble dispatching A.J. Kerin, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6.
San Francisco returns to action Monday Feb. 21 when they host Utah. First serve against the Utes is set for 1:30 PM at the Olympic Club.
