Dons Sweep Past Gonzaga in Men's Tennis, 7-0

The USF men's tennis team improved to 10-5 on the season by dominating Gonzaga 7-0 Tuesday at the Olympic Club in San Francisco. The Dons did not lose a set in taking the West Coast Conference victory. USF won the doubles point with the teams of Lien and Fuller winning 8-3, Lippert and Elvik taking their set 8-2, and De Almeida and Van Rillus winning 8-1. In singles play, USF's Joachim Lien defeated Shawn Whitney 6-3, 6-1; Pablo Pires De Almeida defeated Bryce Cooper 6-2, 6-3 and Sean Dizon topped Reid Arthur 6-2, 6-0. The Dons completed the sweep with Romain Van Rillas topping Drew Ernst 6-3, 6-3; Christian Dyvik stopping Robert Penney 6-1, 6-0; and Alex Elvik winning over Brendan Cunningham 6-2, 6-4.
