Dons' Tennis Continues Hot Streak, wins at Sacramento State 4-3

The USF men's tennis team won its seventh straight with a 4-3 decision over Sacramento State Saturdat afternoon at Rio Del Oro Racquet Club. The Dons claimed the advantage in the match by winning the doubles point as the teams split the six singles matches. USF improved to 9-8 on the season.
San Francisco started the day by taking two of the three doubles matches to claim the point. At the one, Pablo Pires de Almeida and Philip Riise-Hanssen outlasted Sac's Peter Farkas and Joakim Rydberg 8-6. At the two, Warwick Foy and Ramon Perez picked up the lone Sacramento State win over Andrew Bertolina and Greg Hom, 8-3. At the three, Falko Huettenberger and Timo Kienle 8-4 clinched the point by beating Juniad Hossein and Assad Malik 8-4.
In singles play, Rydberg got the Hornets on the board at the one with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Kienle. At the two, USF's Riise-Hanssen topped Hossein 6-3, 6-2. Fernando Rodriguez topped Thomas Morton 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. At the four, Farkas won his match over USF's Pablo de Almeida after he retired due to injury. The final score was 6-4, 6-7, 4-0 ret. At the five, the Hornets' Foyre claimed a hard-fought win over USF's Andrew Hogan, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4. At the six, Huettenberger topped Perez , 6-2, 6-4 to win the match.
USF hosts St. Mary's Sunday afternoon at the California Tennis Club at 2:00 p.m.
