SANTA CLARA, CALIF. - The San Francisco men's tennis squad (11-6) defeated West Coast Conference rival Santa Clara (2-13) for the second time this season Wednesday, finishing with a 6-1 decision over the Broncos.

Due to a possibility of rain, the singles portion of competition was conducted first. The Dons' Greg Hom opened the day with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over John Iwanski at No. 6. Mitch Del Rosario followed at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-1 topping of Justin Wong and then Einar Hart defeated Charlie Burke by the same score at No. 4.

Following a 6-3, 7-6 loss by Thong Tu to Jay Wong, Asaf Cohen and Rainer Nachbauer won 7-6 (5), 6-4; 7-6(5), 6-3 decisions over Kenzo Hirakawa Wong and Senthil Chidambaram, respectively.

With a 5-1 lead, USF and Santa Clara continued to doubles play where the Dons secured the bonus point with a sweep of all three matches.

USF next competes on Saturday at Reno versus the University of Nevada. First serve is set for 1 p.m. PDT.
