SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco's men's tennis squad closed out the 2008 regular season with a 6-1 win over Texas - Pan American Sunday at Golden Gate Park.

With the victory, the Dons will travel to the West Coast Conference Championships held this Friday through Sunday in Santa Clara, Calif., with a 14-6 overall record.

USF opened the dual versus Texas - Pan American by winning two of the three doubles' matches. Asaf Cohen and Einar Hart defeated Manual Avila and Marcus Dornauf, 9-8, at No. 1, while Thong Tu and Rainer Nachbauer topped Nirvick Mohinta and Shashank Vij, 8-4, at No. 2.

Tu, Cohen, Hart, Mitch Del Rosario and Greg Hom won in singles play. Four of the five points in singles came in straight sets. Hom battled Dornauf to a three-set, 6-2, 2-6, 10-4, win.
