Underdog San Francisco lost a first round match 4-3 to #3 seed Santa Clara in the first round of the WCC Tennis Tournament Friday at St. Mary's College.

San Francisco earned the first point of the afternoon by sweeping all three doubles matches. Jachim Lien and axel Elvik won 8-6, John Lippert and Mason Fuller won 8-5 and Jorgen Arneson and Pablo Pires de Almeida won 8-1.

In the singles, USF got singles wins by Jorgen Arnesen and Pablo Pires de Almeida, but were outpointed 4-5.
