Dons Fall to Toreros 4-1 in First Round of WCC Championships, Face LMU Saturday

April 21, 2007

USF got a singles win from the streaking Matthew Berry Friday, but fell 4-1 to third seed and host San Diego in a continuation of a rain suspended WCC Championships match.

Play continued Saturday morning with the match tied 1-1, but USF had lost the first set Friday in the remaining four singles competitions to be played. The Dons were unable to recover and lost three of the four matches ending the match.

The sixth seeded Dons had little luck against the Toreros, playing on their home courts and will play LMU Saturday at 1:30 at San Diego State University.
