USF men's tennis announced the signings of two players to add to next year's talented squad as released by head coach Peter Bartlett today. Andrew Hogan (Dublin, Ireland) and William O'Shea (Pebble Beach, CA) add to an already impressive mix of top foreign players and local Northern California standouts.

One of the top players in the country of Ireland, Hogan has been ranked as high as #2 in his native Ireland and in one of only six players nation-wide to earn an ITF Junior World ranking as well. Hogan is well known for his work ethic and attacking style of play which impresses Bartlett.

"We are very excited to have Andrew coming to the University. He has a very progressive game and will immediate make an impact on the team. He's a very hard worker and is looking to help our program get to the next level," Bartlett said.

O'Shea comes to the Hilltop after an impressive prep career at Robert Louis Stevenson (RLS) High School in Pebble Beach. O'Shea is currently ranked in the top-15 in Northern California Boys 18's and has been one of the top players on his prep team that consistently played for the championship each season. O'Shea recently won the 2003 Monterey Junior Open in the Boy's 18's age group.

Bartlett is optimistic O'Shea can step in and contribute to Dons tennis right away.

"We are excited to have William come to USF, he will continue the recent trend of Northern California players attending USF. He's a real talent and we are expecting him to come in and get some experience and challenge the current players, Bartlett said.

San Francisco posted the best season in 2002-2003 in more than two decades, with a third place finish in the challenging West Coast Conference. Bartlett was named WCC Coach of the Year for his efforts, the first ever given to a USF tennis coach.
