USF Men's Tennis to Play in Bronco Classic

This weekend, the USF men's tennis program will travel to Santa Clara to partake in the SCU Bronco Classic, starting this Friday and ending on Sunday. There will be more than 80 participants this weekend including 13 west regional teams. Furthermore, three squads that finished last season nationally ranked by the ITA: #7 Stanford, # 30 California and #45 Boise State will be on hand.
San Francisco Head Tennis Coach Peter Bartlett is looking forward to seeing how the Dons fair in the tournament, "I'm hopeful we can build on last week's momentum. And if we can establish ourselves with a successful tournament in Santa Clara, thank we will be heading in the right direction for the fall season."
The tournament will break down as follows. There will be three, 32-player draws of singles play, combined with two, 16-team draws in doubles action. The action commences at 8 am Friday morning and will continue throughout the day until 6 pm Friday evening. On Saturday, doubles action will commence at 8 am, followed by a 10 am start for singles. Finally, Sunday's matches will begin with singles play at 10 am, followed by doubles at noon.
"Teams from the Big West, WCC and PAC 10 will all be participating in the tournament. This will be tough competition for our team, but it should be exciting."
