GENERAL CAPSULE: Returns for her senior season in outstanding shape... expected to contribute in her second season on the Hilltop... very good senior leader with play-making ability. 2000-2001 SEASON (2.8 ppg, 1.4 RPG, 0.7 APG): Made difficult transition to Division I after a successful junior college career... poured in a career-high 19 points to lead USF past Cal Poly (12/21/00), converting on 7-of-14 from the field... scored six points and collected a career-high seven steals against Maryland (12/28/00)... dished out four assists on three occasions... pulled down a career-high seven rebounds against Cal Poly. AT VENTURA COLLEGE: Propelled her team to a perfect record and the state title in 1999-2000... earned State Tournament MVP honors... also received State Southern Sectional MVP accolades.... during her sophomore season with the Pirates, averaged 13.3 points, 2.9 rebounds 3.7 assists and 2.8 steals per game... a devastating outside shooter, converted on 49 percent from 3-point range. PREP CAREER: Sparked Buena High School to three consecutive Channel League Championships... during her four years as a Bulldog team compiled a 100-7 record... named to the CIF Southern Section First Team and the LA Times - Ventura County First Team following her senior campaign... won team MVP honors as a senior after winning most improved as a sophomore... named Female Student-Athlete of the Year at Buena HS in 1997-98. PERSONAL: Renae Sea Hofmann... goal for the season is to contribute to the team in any way possible... favorite movie is A League of Their Own... enjoys sushi, hiking, kayaking and going to concerts in her free time... parents are Jackie and Lisa Hofmann... born October 7, 1979 in Santa Barbara, CA. WHY USF?: I chose USF because of the academic tradition, the coaching staff and the type of play that the basketball program has to offer. The City is also very appealing because of the diverse cultures. STRAIGHT FROM THE COACHING STAFF: Renae is a great team player. When she is on the court, she will do the little things to help her team win. She is a great asset to our program.
