(San Francisco) - USF took the lead for good with 16:00 remaining in the first half and did not look back as they powered to a 71-60 victory against visiting Portland Saturday at War Memorial Gym in West Coast Conference women's action. San Francisco (11-8, 3-3 WCC) as USF shot the ball extremely well, .543 (25-46) from the floor and held the Pilots (9-10, 1-5) to .345 (24-68). With the win, the Lady Dons complete their first home sweep of Gonzaga and Portland since the 1995-96 season after defeating the Bulldogs 73-58 on Friday.

USF got a season-high 18 points from senior guard Lindsey Huff, finishing 7-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-5 from beyond the 3-point arc. Huff also added four rebounds and a pair of assists in 22 minutes. Sophomore forward Carey Sauer added 14 points and four rebounds for the Lady Dons. Senior guard Melanie Turner also had a nice outing for USF with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting to go along with four rebounds in 19 minutes.

San Francisco shot at a .571 (12-21) in the first half and connected on 5-of-8 from long distance to take a 35-25 advantage to the intermission, following a buzzer-beating three from freshman guard Toni Russell. USF cooled slightly in the second, converting on .520 (13-25).

Senior forward Tami Standish scored a game-high 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds for the Pilots. Sophomore forward Khalila O'Rielly-Williams chipped in 10 points and boards off the bench for Portland.

USF returns to WCC play when they travel to San Diego to take on the Toreros on Thursday. Game time is at 7:00 PM at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
