Box Score

USF came into Saturday's game against Loyola Marymount looking for their first Los Angeles West Coast Conference road sweep since the 1997 season after securing an impressive 71-61 victory at league-leading Pepperdine Friday in Malibu. Break out the brooms. Sophomore center Leeane Jensen poured in a career-high 21 points to power the Lady Dons to a 56-47 victory in Gersten Pavilion. With the win, the Lady Dons (8-13, 3-4 WCC) improve to a remarkable 6-6 on the road, including 3-2 during league action, while LMU (11-9, 3-4 WCC) falls to USF at home for the first time since the 1999 season.

Neither team could score with any kind of consistency for the second consecutive night in the first half. The Lady Dons connected on .333 (9-27), while the Lions managed a .250 (7-28) clip from the field. San Francisco was able to capitalize on 12 LMU turnovers in the first half.

Jensen continued her strong play on the low block and sparked USF to a 23-16 advantage at the intermission by virtue of eight points, two rebounds and a pair of blocks in the opening frame. Freshman guard Joy Hollingsworth added eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

USF used a 7-2 run to open the second half to take a 30-21 advantage with 17:11 remaining and built their lead to as many as 11 on several occasions and USF's zone defense would not allow LMU to close any closer than seven points after the 10:00 mark.

Once again, Jensen led the way for the Lady Dons with a career-high 21 points on 10-for-16 from the floor and added six rebounds in 26 minutes. Hollingsworth finished with another solid all-around outing with 17 points, four rebounds and a career-high six assists in 36 minutes. Junior forward Carey Sauer finished with nine points and six boards for San Francisco.

USF converted on .500 (13-26) from the floor in the second half, and hit at a .415 (22-53) pace for the game and held the Lions to a .351 (20-57) from the field. LMU held a 40-31 rebound advantage.
