(San Francisco, CA) - San Francisco Women's basketball returned to War Memorial Gym, but not to the win column, as it fell to Bay Area and West Coast Conference rival Saint Mary's 86-73 on Thursday night. Saint Mary's led in categories from the field, including field goals (.500/28-56), 3-point field goals (.636/7-11), and free throws (.885/23-26). USF shot .422 (27-64), managed only 5-16 (.313) from behind the arc, and made 14-25 (.560) from the line. The Dons had 18 turnovers compared to SMC's 17, but did manage to out-rebound the Gaels 38-35.

Sophomore forward Heidi Heintz led Dons scorers with 17 points, five rebounds, and two assists. Senior center Necolia Simmons had 16 points, nine rebounds and one assists. Rounding out USF's double figure scorers, junior guard Shay Rollins scored 12 points had nine rebounds, and three assists.
