Dons Falter In First Game of Scandinavia Trip

(Stockholm, Sweden) - In its first game of an 11-day Scandinavia tour, the USF women's basketball dropped a 79-49 decision to the Swedish U20 National Team Tuesday evening at Vasalundshallen in Solona, Sweden.

Freshman guard Rheina Ale led the Dons in scoring with 14 points, followed by senior Shay Rollins with nine. Junior Nnenna Okereke and freshman Heidi Anton each posted six points, while freshman Vania Singleterry and sophomore Donnisha Taylor each scored five. Taylor led San Francisco in rebounds with nine while Okereke pulled down six.

The contest between the two schools was played under international rules, including four 10-mintute periods and a trapezoid lane.

The two teams will meet again Wednesday at 6 p.m. Stockholm time. The game will be the second of five games on the overseas tour.
