Dons Complete Sweep of Danish National Team

(Copenhagen, Denmark) - Behind a 21 point effort from freshman Vania Singleterry, the USF women's basketball team completed a two-game sweep of the Danish National Team Tuesday, thanks to a 70-55 victory in Copenhagen. The win marked the third straight victory for San Francisco and the second consecutive victory over Denmark. USF finished its Scandinavian trip with a 3-2 record thanks to the wins over the Danish and a victory against Norway's top women's team.
Singleterry was one of four Dons to score double-digits Tuesday, but the lone Don to score 20-plus points. Senior Shay Rollins wrapped up her career in the Green and Gold with 16 points, while freshman Rheina Ale added 13. Sophomore Donnisha Taylor rounded out Dons with 10 or most points, thanks to an 11 point outing. Freshman Katy Keating chipped in five USF points and junior Nnenna Okereke rounded out San Francisco scorers with four points.
Singleterry narrowly missed out on a double-double, pulling down nine boards, while Taylor and Okereke each added eight. Rollins led San Francisco with seven assists, while Heidi Anton, Taylor and Singleterry each nabbed a trio of steals.
The game wrapped up USF's tour of Scandinavia, as the Dons will return to San Francisco Wednesday.
