Two USF Women's Basketball Student Athletes Named to ESPN Magazine/COSIDA District VIII All-Academic Teams

Feb. 7, 2008

Two members of the 2007-08 Women's Basketball team were named to the ESPN Magazine/COSIDA District VIII Academic Teams today.

Senior center Lisa Olden earned second team honors with a 3.91 GPA in accounting. On the court, the Beaverton, OR native averages 5.3 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 0.9 apg, and leads the team with 22 blocks.

Senior guard Dominique Carter earned third team honors with a 3.38 GPA, also in accounting. Carter currently has 1,694 career points, good for second place on the USF career scoring list. In Conference charts, the Tracy, CA native surpassed Loyola Marymount's Bryn Britton (1998-2002/1,662), and now resides firmly in the number eight spot. She needs nine points to take the seventh spot from Gonzaga's Ivy Safranski (1991-95/1,702), and 10 to overtake Gonzaga's Jessica Malone (1998-2002/1,703), currently in sixth. Carter is second in the league in scoring this season at 19.6 points per contest and is third in free-throw percentage (.829/60-72).
